Lillington Bowling Club

About Us

Founded in 1930, Lillington Bowling Club has had a long and distinguished history. To read more about how our club was founded and how it has developed since, please go to Downloads to find "History of Lillington Bowling Club".

Our mission is to INSPIRE by providing excellent bowling and club facilities for the benefit of all members, guests and visitors.

To do so, Lillington Bowling Club aims to:

· INvolve our club in the community through events and activities.

· Support members through friendly and constructive coaching that will enable them to play the game to the best of their ability.

· Provide an inclusive social and sporting environment for members, guests and visitors.

· Introduce new members to the club as a safe place where fun, friendship and sporting excellence are fostered.

· Respect the standards and etiquette of the sport.

· Ensure that all bowlers are given the opportunity to reach their full potential.

We welcome members with all abilities and all ages. For those just starting out we provide a full introduction to the sport of bowls through our three qualified coaches.

We have strong Ladies and Men’s sections, with a full calendar of internal galas, competitions, external league matches, and "friendlies" at home and away with other clubs, which are also often arranged as mixed matches with Ladies and Men playing together.

As one of the largest bowls clubs in Warwickshire, many of our members have gained county honours and have gone on to qualify for national competitions.

Our Green is recognised as one of the best playing surfaces in the county. In recent years we have hosted the Fiji Ladies team and the Australian Jackaroos, prior to international competitions.

We are a lawn bowls club that offers a programme of events beyond the outdoor playing season. During winter, within the clubhouse we offer short-mat bowls sessions on our two full-size rinks, occasional skittles evenings, table tennis and our snooker section has two first class tables. Our very active social committee will also keep you entertained with a range of activities that include quizzes, race nights and Christmas festivities.

The club is fully licensed for the sale of alcoholic drinks, and its bar offers a range of draught beers, lagers, bottled beers, wine and soft drinks. During the “open season” the bar is open every weekday evening and at weekends for matches and events. In the “closed season” the bar is open at specified events (for example, short-mat bowls evenings, snooker matches).

As a “members club”, we depend on our membership for all our services and operations. All new members receive a full induction programme that offers an insight into every aspect of the club. From this moment, we hope that you will become part of the LBC family.

Come and join us. You will be made very welcome
